The members are people like You, who have zeal to help others and desire to do something for the society and the country. The group consists of employees and students backed by the guidance and advice of experienced professionals and social workers.

WHY ?
There are millions of people in India who are living below poverty line, who are deprived of basic education and health facilities etc. We all have the potential to do something. It may just be a small drop in the ocean, but together we all can change the future of many people and bring brightness in their lives.

HOW?
We are launching campaigns to support :

 education for the orphans and poor meritorious students
 donating required things to the poor and needy people
 career counseling and employment opportunities
 extending medical and health support
 awareness on social issues etc. and many more …..

Our MISSION AHEAD :

 To provide basic education to all the orphans and poor meritorious students by paying school fee, providing text books, uniforms, shoes and other required materials.
 To help students and youth by career counseling and provide employment opportunities.
 To conduct blood donation camps, health awareness camps and provide medicine and health support to the poor and needy.
 To create awareness among students and youth on social problems.
To create awareness towards environmental problems and related issues.
 To create awareness on traffic problems and give traffic education.

Present Scenario :

There are many problems which need our attention. The vastness of the problems and their innumerable existence may take away the thought of solving them from our minds. But Every problem has a solution, however complicated it might be and all innumerable things begin from a single digit ONE. So, solving each problem with determination and dedication, we shall together attain prosperity and development for the country. Let us help the people in need within our capacity and tomorrow they will also do their part. Together we all can achieve the goals which seem unattainable today !

What Can WE do ???

Every small step counts. To start with,
 You may give any information like the details of any needy people or organizations lacking support.
 You may refer a donor or sponsor to support orphans, poor, old, sick and needy.
 You may spare few hours and participate in any of the events.

 You may donate either money or any old items like clothes, bedsheets etc.
 You may spread the word about ARROW and its role to generate more help.
The least thing you can do is to spread a word about us to all your friends, colleagues, relatives and other contacts. Remember every small step counts and every little effort matters.

If you want to do more or want to know any more information, you may contact us.

With regards,

Eco-Friendly ganesh Chaturdhi

Let us celebrate
ECO-FRIENDLY GANESH CHATURDHI !

Ganesh Chaturdhi is one of the most famous festivals of India and is widely practised throughout the country. The custom of immersing the Lord Ganesh’s idol, after a certain period of worship is coming from several decades. However, the use of Plaster of Paris ( POP ) in making the idols is posing a severe threat to the water bodies.

The Ganesh idols made up of Plaster of Paris pollute the water when they are immersed.
The chemical paints present on such idols further add more to water pollution and threat to acquatic life.
• Plaster of Paris (POP) is not a naturally occurring material and contains gypsum, sulphur, phosphorus and magnesium. The idols take several months to dissolve in water and in the process poison the waters of lake, ponds, rives and seas.
• The chemical paints used to decorate the Ganesh idol contain mercury, lead, cadmium and carbon and this increases the acidity and heavy metal content in the water.

• Several accessories used during the Ganesh Puja like Thermocole, plastic flowers, cloth, incense, camphor and numerous other materials are dumped carelessly adding more strain to the already polluted rivers and lakes.
• Careless dumping of Ganesh idols in waterbodies blocks the natural flow of water. This results in stagnation and breeding of mosquitoes and other harmful pests.
• The polluted water causes several diseases including skin diseases.
• The pollution from Ganesh Chaturthi idols also damages the ecosystem, kills fishes and water plants.
• In many areas, the same polluted water gets pumped into homes.

Alternatives
• Use eco-friendly clay idols colorless or painted with natural colors.
• Avoid using plastic covers, thermocols and other unnecessary stuff for decoration.
• Avoid public waterbodies to immerse small idols, instead immerse idol in bucket or tub at home.
• The left over clay and the water can be later used in the garden.

Let us see that our Worship doesn’t become a blind reason for environmental pollution.
Practise eco-friendly procedures in your daily life. Help save the planet Earth !

Our Devotion is not measured by the size or color of the idol,
but from the sincere faith we have within our Hearts !

So, Friends ! Do not involve in the purchase of Idols made of Plaster of Paris [POP]. Instead buy a clay idol without color or with natural colors.

You are not only worshipping God properly by doing this, but also helping the people around You and preserving the Nature !

Wish you all a Happy
